Marketing Assistant

Overview The position is located in the Marketing Division of the Morale, Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Department at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, TX. The Marketing Division provides information and support services for approximately 5,000+ personnel, including active duty military, family members, NAF and APF civilians, tenant commands and their dependents. The incumbent is responsible for performing non‑supervisory marketing and promotional assistance. Responsibilities Provide advice to program and facility managers on efficient and cost‑effective marketing and publicity strategies. Plan, initiate, and implement comprehensive marketing campaigns to enhance and promote MWR programs. Publicize and encourage patronage of MWR programs and facilities through strategic deployment of marketing tools such as email, websites, presentations, publications, official message traffic, and printed materials. Prepare marketing materials by gathering information, planning, designing, and writing for all forms of advertising. Ensure work is performed in a timely manner and within budget constraints. Apply design principles and artistic ability to create visual concepts, layouts, and production methods for newsletters, brochures, posters, fliers, menus, certificates, banners, logos, letterhead, tickets, and other marketing materials. Communicate with MWR customers to gain approval, meet deadlines, and fulfill organization goals. Address customer comments and complaints, escalating unresolved issues as necessary. Maintain computer files for completed work, including photographs. Operate graphic/print equipment such as paper cutters, laminators, large format printers, and color copiers. Maintain production equipment and supplies; suggest repairs and purchases. Process purchase requests and track credit card purchases and inventory. Develop effective distribution plans for printed and electronic information; maintain website, social media, and bulletin boards. Operate a professional digital camera and edit photographs to promote MWR events, activities, and facilities. Support Commercial Sponsorship activities such as writing solicitation materials and event fact sheets. Perform clerical tasks including procurement, basic accounting, and routine correspondence. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications At least one year of general experience in the marketing field, demonstrating knowledge of all phases of marketing. Ability to analyze and develop marketing recommendations and integrate them into marketing plans. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and understand complex regulations. Problem‑solving and creative negotiation skills. Interpersonal skills to facilitate customer service relationships. Teamwork and flexibility. Excellent written and oral communication; accurate proofreading. Ability to develop customized presentations and visual concepts. Knowledge of proper grammar, spelling, and graphics style. Skill in layout and design for publicity materials. Proficiency with personal computers, digital scanners, printers, and Microsoft Office. Experience creating graphic designs and layouts on Adobe Creative Cloud products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.). Experience operating a professional digital camera and photo editing software. Ability to handle multiple projects, establish priorities, and meet deadlines. Conditions of Employment Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successfully complete a background investigation. Must pass the E‑Verify employment verification check. Must complete a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process. May be required to pass pre‑employment examinations. Valid State driver’s license required for motor vehicle operation. Salary must be directed to a financial institution via Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. Selectee must register with or be exempt from the Selective Service.
