Field Service Technician

(Various U.S. Locations – Travel Required): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking experienced Field Service Compressor & Rotating Equipment Mechanics to support pipeline, refinery, compressor station, and petrochemical projects across the United States. This is a travel-based, field project role involving rotating assignments, outage work, and emergency repair support. Candidates must be willing to travel extensively with little to no fixed schedule. Pay is up to $35/hr DOE, with hotel and per diem provided for all out-of-town assignments. Essential Duties: Perform field maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of natural gas compression systems and rotating equipment Complete repairs on reciprocating and rotating compressors in pipeline, refinery, and compressor station environments Support refinery and petrochemical turnaround and outage projects Diagnose and repair engine-driven compressor packages in field settings Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and operational testing of equipment Conduct compressor component repairs, replacements, and system rebuilds Execute field service work including emergency breakdown response and scheduled maintenance Utilize OEM and aftermarket parts to restore equipment to operational standards Perform in-field mechanical work with limited supervision Collaborate with site personnel and engineering teams to resolve mechanical issues Requirements/Skills: Experience with natural gas compression systems and rotating equipment Strong background in reciprocating and/or rotary compressor overhaul and repair Experience with engine-driven compressor packages Waukesha and Caterpillar engine experience strongly preferred Experience with Ariel, Cooper, or similar compression systems a plus Millwright or turbine experience a plus Background in refinery, pipeline, compressor station, or petrochemical field service work Ability to perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs independently Experience with in-frame overhauls and full rebuilds preferred but not required Must be willing to travel extensively with no fixed schedule Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor, non-climate-controlled industrial environments Must be able to lift, carry, and move heavy components and tools as required Ability to stand, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces Must be able to perform physically demanding mechanical work for extended periods Must comply with all site-specific safety requirements and PPE standards Equal Opportunity Statement: Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
