Outpatient Oncology Registered Nurse RN

Hourly Wage Estimate: $36.50 - $53.25 / hour Job Summary This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center to optimize the quality of life for all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Within scope, the BMT Outpatient Clinic RN oversees and directs the care of BMT or Hematology‑Oncology patients, collaborates with all disciplines to provide well‑coordinated patient care, demonstrates high‑level knowledge and competence with respect to hematologic malignancies and administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy agents, appropriately manages side effects of treatment, engages the physician as appropriate, provides patient and family education relative to the patient’s diagnosis and treatment process, and acts as an ambassador for the bone marrow transplant program. When the need arises, performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN license in the State of Colorado or a current active multistate RN license; BLS – Healthcare provider. ACLS required within 6 months. ONS Chemotherapy Provider card with 1 year of hire (if staff member is PRN, ONS is not required). Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Experience: One year of acute care experience required. Hematology‑Oncology or BMT experience preferred. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members; ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care; strong critical thinking skills; desire to provide compassionate, holistic care.
