More than 2,500 team members at more than 70 Tidelands Health locations bring our healing mission to life each day.A Brief OverviewAs a Radiation Therapist you will be an essential part of our multidisciplinary care team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based radiation therapy to oncology patients. You will be responsible for administering accurate, compassionate, and safe radiation treatments using advanced linear accelerator technology.You will play a hands-on role in both simulation and treatment processes, supporting patients through all stages of their care. Your clinical precision and empathy will help ensure each patient receives individualized, effective treatment in accordance with their physician's prescription.What you will doAdminister ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescriptions and treatment plans.Perform CT simulations and daily treatment setups with precision and care.Assist with clinical and emergency simulations and pre-treatment procedures.Collaborate closely with physicians, physicists, dosimetrists, and other care team members.Monitor and assess patients' condition and treatment response.Maintain accurate documentation and uphold all safety and quality standards.Education QualificationsAssociate's Degree from an accredited Radiation Therapy program RequiredExperience QualificationsMinimum two year experience PreferredSkills and AbilitiesGood interpersonal/human relations skillsAbility to respond to emergency situations and unpleasant elementsAbility to work with hazardous materials and wear protective clothingAbility to operate a personal computer.Demonstrate a strong understanding of the unique care needs for patients across all age groups.Licenses and CertificationsRegistry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy RequiredLicensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) upon ARRT certification RequiredBasic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association within 30 Days RequiredPhysical DemandMedium Physical DemandThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative and level of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a contract for employment nor a declaration of the total of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
