As a Dental Assistant, you’ll play an important role in that experience at our Gateway Plaza location in Patchogue, NY. You’ll provide hands-on clinical support and help patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in every part of their visit.

Experience Required

• 3 or more years of experience in a Dental Assistant role preferred
• Experience with Dentrix Ascend or other dental practice management software is helpful, but we’ll provide training on our systems
• Flexibility with scheduling required—our office is open six days a week, including early mornings, evenings, and some holidays. Most Dental Assistants work every other Saturday
• Bilingual in English and Spanish welcomed

What You’ll Do as a Dental Assistant
Clinical Care & Chairside Support

• Provide clinical, hands-on chairside assistance during procedures, following each Provider’s preferences and protocols.
• Adhere to all OSHA, sterilization, and infection control protocols.
• Utilize our radios and follow our SOP for their use.
• Maintain a full understanding of and properly use our Prosthetic forms.
• Assist with lab case management.
• Take any necessary x-rays or wellness scans as directed by our Providers.
• Support Invisalign appointments, treatment, and iTero scans; we happily provide training for both as needed.
• Learn and master “A,” “B,” and “C” dismissals.
• Always follow our “front stage” behavior.
• Professionally hold space for anxious patients, and act as their advocate—including helping explain their financial responsibilities, if needed.

Patient Experience & Communication

• Assist with the New Patient experience, including giving tours of our practice upon arrival.
• Take ownership of appointment flow—keeping appointments on time and helping manage the Provider’s schedule.
• Follow our protocol for a proper handoff of patients to the Front Desk for checkout.
• Participate in and help run morning or afternoon huddles for your Provider and their Patient Coordinators/Scheduler ; prep the daily huddle sheet with your team’s Scheduler when necessary.
• Check emails frequently to stay up to date on communications throughout the day.
• Comfortably ask happy patients to share feedback in an online review, or refer a friend to the practice.

Team Collaboration & Practice Support

• Work collaboratively with the entire practice to meet or exceed monthly goals so all team members have the opportunity to receive the monthly bonus.
• Mentor new team members when comfortable and able to add value.
• If not yet familiar with Ascend, participate in training to strengthen your knowledge of our practice software, including how to check patient status, schedule appointments, and correctly enter future procedures.
• Generate and review reports, when directed.
• Monitor treatment plans and case acceptance when directed, ensuring treatment plans are entered correctly in Ascend to support your Doctor and meet hourly production goals.
• Perform all other duties as deemed necessary by the Administration Team and/or COO.

Minimal Qualifications:
Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required).
• College degree optional.
