Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU Step-Down / Neuro Surgical Step-Down

Shift: Night | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 days/week | 12 hours/shift | 36 hours/week

Pay Rate
Local: $62.00 - $67.00/hour
Traveler: $62.00 - $67.00/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Surgical Step-Down/ICU Step-Down setting caring for complex medical, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical patients.

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License.
• ASN/ADN from an accredited nursing program.
• AHA BLS Certification.
• AHA ACLS Certification.
• NIHSS Certification.
• 4-hour Stroke CEU Contact.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience in a major acute-care hospital.
• Strong MS/Tele background.
• Neuro experience required.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills.
• Telemetry experience required.
• Ability to float within competency.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Navy Blue scrubs required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Neuro Surgical Step-Down/ICU Step-Down patients.
• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor complex medical, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical patients.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and higher-acuity nursing interventions.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and report significant changes.
• Perform neuro assessments and monitor neurological status.
• Document nursing care in EPIC.
• Provide ventilator-related care and monitoring when required.
• Assist with post-cardiac surgery and post-surgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments safely.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and care needs.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Follow infection-control and patient-safety policies.
• Float to other units within competency.
• Work weekends and holidays as needed.
