Labs Associate

Job Title

Rate: ***/HR Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 9:00am-5:30pm The work we have temps doing is stripped-down parts of our overall process - checking in couriers, unbagging, bar coding, moving samples around the lab ("running"), loading samples into analyzers, adding samples into centrifuges, swirling samples with a liquid chemical, pulling samples from our refrigerated storage area. For onsite visits, the candidates must have their legs fully covered, no skin showing even at the ankles.

Profiles we prefer to see: The ideal candidate for us has experience of working in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment. For someone with human lab experience, that means working in a high-volume environment like a LabCorp or Quest. Processors/Accessioners/phlebotomists from those companies or a big high volume hospital work well for us. For someone with Vet Tech or Vet Assisting experience, if they also worked recently at an Amazon or Fed Ex or some other fulfillment position, or perhaps in food service that can be helpful - they can be a great fit, but our production-based work can at times be too fast for them if they are not from a big clinic. For someone with a recent Biology degree, the fast-paced work history will be critical- a research background typically does not work. For someone without lab experience at all: a willingness to work with and handle blood, urine, fecals and biopsies. Fast-paced work history where they are on their feet and moving - food service, fulfillment, warehouse, production, Amazon / FedEx etc.

Questions we would like you to make sure you ask on your end before submitting the candidate:

• Can you work the exact hours as outlined - we do not have flexibility on days of the week or start / end times
• ***'s positions require you to sit/stand/move for long periods of time (the full shift) - are you comfortable with those physical requirements?
• ***'s positions require you to handle (with PPE), blood, urine, fecals and/or biopsies. There may be smells that go along with those types of samples. Are you comfortable being around and handling those types of samples?
• If overnight position, do you have overnight experience, or why is an overnight shift preferable to you at this time?
• Discuss the location of the lab - Are you able to reliably commute to that location for your scheduled shifts?
• Can you commit to the entirety of the temp assignment?
• Do you have any planned time off or scheduling conflicts in the next 1-3 months that would interfere with your ability to work the assignment?
