An AM Law 140 firm is seeking a 4th–5th year Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office. The work will include: Managing written and document discovery Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, pleadings, and motions Handling dispositive and non-dispositive motion practice Taking and defending depositions Assisting with witness preparation Supporting trial preparation, case strategy, and broader dispute management Working closely with partners and clients on significant commercial matters What they are looking for 4–5 years of litigation experience Strong background in commercial litigation Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and case-management skills Confidence working both independently and collaboratively Strong academic background Plaintiff-side or defense-side experience both of interest, provided the litigation background is strong Salary & hours Annual target: 1,950 hours 1,800 hours treated as core billable target Up to 150 hours can be credited through pro bono, firm activity, and other approved contributions Ideal profile This is a strong move for someone who wants to join a financially strong, internationally positioned firm with the infrastructure, training, and resources to support long-term development, while still offering meaningful involvement in sophisticated litigation at the associate level.
