Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Every other weekend required | Rotating major holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department averaging 135 patients daily, including acute, trauma, and pediatric cases across a 30-bed unit with 2 trauma bays
• Manage a diverse patient population including chest pain, trauma (MVAs, GSWs, falls), stroke, pediatric (10–15% of volume), and geriatric patients with varying acuity levels
• Administer and monitor common vasoactive and sedation drips including Diltiazem, Cardene, Nitroglycerin, Propofol, Fentanyl, and Levophed
• Care for ED holds intermixed within the department, including psychiatric patients; monitor own telemetry strips
• Float between two campus locations (approximately 16 minutes apart) as needed in a helping-hands capacity without a patient assignment
• May be asked to precept staff as needed; triage responsibilities may be assigned after demonstrated competency on assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience in a facility of comparable volume, trauma level, and size
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam (83% passing score) prior to contract start; up to three attempts permitted
• Epic EMR experience required; this position supports an Epic conversion
• Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time or part-time) by any facility within the CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity Health system within the past year; candidates previously placed PRN through outside staffing firms may be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level III Trauma Center or Primary Stroke Center environment
• Familiarity with chest tube management, rapid transfusion protocols, and care of intubated patients
• Experience working in high-volume EDs with fast-track or vertical care models
• Comfort with 1:1 trauma assignments and variable acuity-based nurse-to-patient ratios
