Class C Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician (Dryer Technician)

Unitex is currently seeking a skilled Class C Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician to join our team in Newburgh, NY. This position requires one year of mechanical work experience and has tremendous growth potential. Compensation: $22 - $27 per/hr. The salary range for this position is $22.00/hour to $27.00/hour. Actual compensation decisions are based on factors such as experience, seniority, location, and other permissible job-related factors. Schedule: To be discussed during screening prior to interview, based on seniority per Union Contract.

Responsibilities:

• Spends a good part of the day maintaining and fixing industrial dryers.
• Repairs carts, maintains slings, takes on small projects, and performs routine maintenance and repairs on industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and press machines.
• Conducts preventive maintenance inspections to identify potential problems and ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong desire to learn industrial laundry maintenance and grow within the company.
• Punctual and reliable a must - shift starts as early as 5:30 AM.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a relevant field is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Class C Manufacturing Mechanic/Technician or similar role in an industrial setting.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with safety protocols and practices in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and other departments.
