Take a glimpse into why CW might be the right place for you: Bring the shine! We’re looking for a Floor Care Technician with at least 1 year of experience to keep our spaces spotless. If you know your way around a buffer and love a job that keeps you moving—let’s talk! Hours: Monday- Friday 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Shift: Varies (evening schedule during major projects-mandatory) Clean and care for a variety of floor surfaces—like tile, vinyl, carpet, and concrete—using the right methods for each. This includes regular sweeping, mopping, and scheduled deep cleaning to keep floors looking their best. Operate floor care machines such as buffers, auto-scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, and vacuums to complete daily and project-based tasks. Perform advanced floor care services like stripping old wax or finish, applying new coatings, buffing for shine, and deep-cleaning carpets using hot water extraction or bonnet methods. Follow safety guidelines when working with cleaning chemicals and equipment, and always wear the proper personal protective gear (PPE). Use all equipment safely and make sure it’s cleaned, stored properly, and in good working order. Follow OSHA and facility safety standards to help keep yourself and others safe. Work on your own or with a team to complete daily floor care duties and larger cleaning projects. Keep in touch with your supervisor about any equipment issues, supply needs, or floor damage that needs attention. Help maintain a clean, safe, and professional space by keeping floors free of spills, dirt, and slip hazards. Day In The Life Start your shift by reviewing your schedule and gathering supplies and equipment for the day’s tasks. Walk through assigned areas to check floor conditions and plan your work. Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors to prep for deeper cleaning. Use machines like buffers, scrubbers, and extractors to clean and polish floors. Strip and wax floors or deep-clean carpets, depending on the surface and schedule. Monitor equipment performance and clean or refill machines as needed. Stay alert for spills, hazards, or damage and take action to fix or report them. Wrap up by cleaning your equipment, storing supplies, and logging completed work. What You’ll Need Minimum of 1-year hands on experience working as a commercial floorcare technician, janitor, or similar role. Experience using floor care machines like buffers, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and carpet extractors. Knowledge of floor types (tile, vinyl, carpet, concrete) and how to clean and maintain each properly. Strong attention to detail—takes pride in clean, polished results. Good time management—can stay on task and meet deadlines. Self-motivated—able to work independently with minimal supervision. Team player—works well with others to complete larger projects. Clear communication—can report issues and follow directions. Positive attitude—takes ownership of the job and stays professional. Work indoors in busy, high-traffic areas like hallways, lobbies, or dining spaces. Be exposed to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants—must follow safety procedures. Handle noise and vibration from machines like buffers and vacuums. Work in warm, cool, or drafty areas, especially near entrances or loading zones.
