Job Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Build domain, supporting critical developer infrastructure across three large-scale monorepos. This role will focus on systems that developers rely on every day, including GitHub Enterprise (GHE), CI infrastructure and agents, build systems, and the overall CI developer experience .

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with CI/CD and large-scale developer or platform infrastructure. You should be comfortable operating and troubleshooting production systems, investigating complex build failures, managing CI capacity and agents, and coordinating with multiple teams to resolve issues that span organizational ownership boundaries.

This position requires a broad understanding of interconnected infrastructure systems while also being able to dive deeply into technical issues when needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and large-scale developer, platform, or infrastructure systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across interconnected infrastructure environments.
• Experience operating and supporting production systems, not just designing them.
• Experience with build infrastructure and build systems , preferably Bazel .
• Experience working with CI agents/runners and managing CI capacity.
• Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise (GHE) or similar enterprise source-control platforms.
• Ability to investigate build failures and identify root causes.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across multiple engineering teams.
• Ability to work independently in situations where ownership or solutions may not be clearly defined.
• Comfortable working in complex technical environments with a meaningful learning curve.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting large monorepos.
• Experience with Bazel at scale.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise administration or platform infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting CI infrastructure and build agents.
• Background in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, developer productivity, or developer experience.
• Experience coordinating incident resolution across multiple technical teams.
