Senior Incident Response Engineer - Remote

Kforce has a client seeking a remote Senior Incident Response Engineer to support a high-visibility infrastructure team focused on strengthening incident response and operational excellence. This role plays a critical part in managing incidents, driving timely resolution, and communicating directly with executive leadership. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage incident response efforts, including triage, escalation, and resolution coordination
- Communicate incident status, business impact, and outcomes to senior leadership, including VP stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and incident management platforms
- Produce clear, structured executive summaries and final incident reports
- Ensure reporting includes business impact, root cause, resolution, and recommendations
- Support and improve post-incident review (PIR) and postmortem processes
- Drive continuous improvement in incident response and problem management practices
- Automate prompts to initiate tools such as Microsoft Copilot for recording and transcription at incident start
- Streamline data extraction processes to support efficient PIR documentation and reporting
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to enhance incident response workflows
- Extensive experience in senior-level incident management within enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of problem records, post-incident reviews (PIR), and postmortems
- Proficiency with collaboration and incident tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and incident management platforms (OPTIC preferred)
- Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, or Claude in operational workflows
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into business-focused language
- Proven ability to produce executive-level reporting and communicate with senior stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple incidents simultaneously
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks and incident management best practices
- Experience in large enterprise or infrastructure-focused environments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret incident data and summarize outcomes
