Responsibilities

• Represent the pharmacy In a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients.
• Dispense and package medications under the direction of the on‑duty pharmacist.
• Ensure compliance with all licensure and federal, state, and local laws and regulations; observe the pharmacy's policies on "best practices".
• Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints.
• Assume on‑call responsibilities in accordance with pharmacy guidelines.
• Report product incidents as required in accordance with pharmacy policy.
• Participate In surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
• Participate in the pharmacy's Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
• Participate in pharmacy committees when requested.
• Participate in ln‑service education programs provided by the pharmacy.
• Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacist.
• The following functions require the professional judgment of a pharmacist and may not be performed by a pharmacy technician:
  • Acceptance of verbal prescriptions.
  • Certification of filled prescriptions.
  • Entry of orders Into the computer system without verification by pharmacist.
• Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
• Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
• Regular and prompt attendance
• Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
• Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) Required
• Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
