Registered Nurse - Telemetry/Medsurg

Schedule: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM, Per Diem Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients, communicates with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition, and is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care through the nursing process.
• Provide direct patient care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
• Direct and guide patient/family education and nursing personnel activities.
• Communicate effectively with the medical team regarding patient condition and treatment responses.
• Ensure adherence to standards of care and clinical protocols.
• Monitor cardiac activity and respond to changes in patient condition.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) certificate.
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) certificate.
• Minimum of 1 year previous acute care hospital experience.
• Meditech EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to float to various units as needed.
