- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) - Class A.
- HazMat Endorsement (required).
- Tanker Endorsement (or the ability to obtain tanker endorsement after hire).
- A good driving record (acceptable to our insurance carrier).
- Commercial driving experience - None required; however, applicants with 1 year or more of CDL driving experience are preferred.
- We provide training on all aspects of safely transporting and handling propane; however, prior experience transporting flammables would be a plus.
- High school diploma, GED, or the ability to demonstrate reading and writing (in English), and basic mathematical skills comparable to a typical high school graduate.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work safely, independently, and productively.
- Route Delivery Drivers must professionally interact and communicate with customers on their route.
- Daily routes include multiple "live unload" deliveries falling into the following 3 delivery types:
- Exchange empty propane cylinders for filled cylinders.
- Pump propane from the delivery truck bulk tank into customer's dispensing system.
- Fill propane cylinders on-site from the delivery truck bulk tank.
- The normal work week is Monday - Friday with some flexibility on shift start and stop times.
- Route Delivery Drivers also rotate "on-call" coverage (one week every 6-8 weeks) for emergency night and weekend deliveries.
- Some overtime (mostly due to seasonal demand spikes).
