The ideal candidate is a technically strong, self-driven engineer who can support and lead portions of multiple design projects, coordinate with cross-disciplinary teams, and contribute high-quality technical solutions across a wide range of building and industrial systems. This role is well-suited for someone ready to take on greater responsibility in project execution, design leadership, and client coordination within a collaborative team environment.The ideal candidate can design electrical systems (high voltage, power distribution, power generation, energy storage, lighting, fire alarm) for a wide variety of multi-disciplinary (A&E) project types, including but not limited to:Mission CriticalLaboratoriesHealthcareAdvanced ManufacturingUtility Plant and campus distributionCorporate CommercialResponsibilities include:Designing electrical systemsAssurance of complete documentation of engineering requirementsPreparing and adhering to budgeted hours for projectPerforming or overseeing load calculationsDeveloping system applicationsCoordinating designs with architecture and other engineering disciplinesMaintaining project files and calculations for assigned projectsAssurance of quality and completeness of the engineering designPerforming and/or supervising on-site condition surveysAssessing project staffing needsMonitoring conformance to project scope and documenting deviations at the time of discoveryPreparing technical reportsParticipating in client meetings regarding engineering systemsMentoring staff and providing supervision to other engineering team members on a projectYour capabilities and credentials:Registered Professional Engineer preferredUp-to-date knowledge of appropriate codes and technologiesProficient in the use of engineering design and documentation toolsProfessional knowledge of a broad range of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architectureKnowledge of advanced engineering principles and calculationsEffective communication skillsEducation and experience: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; 5+ years of experience in building design. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
