Working Foreman

As a working foreman you will be responsible for supervising a crew of Journeymen Industrial Mechanics and also performing hands on work yourself. Join a company that values craftsmanship and expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

• Recording parts or materials used and ordering or requisitioning new parts or materials as necessary.
• Recording repairs and maintenance performed.
• Studying blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
• Cutting and welding metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
• Monitoring employees' work levels and reviewing work performance.
• Inspecting and monitoring work areas, examining tools and equipment, and providing employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules.
• Investigating accidents or injuries and preparing reports of findings.
• Requisitioning materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, or replacement parts.
• Inspecting, testing, and measuring completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements.
• Conducting or arranging for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
• Counseling employees about work-related issues and assisting employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
• Recommending or initiating personnel actions, such as discharges, or disciplinary measures.
• Compiling operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
• Operating heavy machinery such as manlifts, forklifts, and cranes.
• Repairing or replacing broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
• Disassembling machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
• Observing and testing the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using various testing devices.
• Reassembling equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
• Cleaning, lubricating, or adjusting parts, equipment, or machinery.
• Examining parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
• Operating newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
• Analyzing test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
• This position requires daily travel to various client worksites mostly within the State of Florida. 15% travel outside of Florida but within the United States. Frequent overnight travel.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work location and travel:

• The main office is located at 1171 Grill Road, Van Wert, Ohio 45891.
• Travel to client and customer sites is required.
• Days and hours of work may vary at times to include some evenings and weekends.

Work environment:

• This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary (Monday to Sunday with some overnight work) and overtime is frequently required.
• This position is safety sensitive in nature, which means employees perform duties so fraught with risks of injury to self or others, or environmental injury, that even a momentary lapse of concentration or attention can have disastrous consequences.
• The working environment is often in harsh elements (hot/humid and/or cold temperatures, rain, etc.) Industrial environments often have exposure to hazardous chemicals, moving heavy equipment, and other safety-sensitive hazards/risks. Must always be alert and able to safely perform the essential duties of the job without risking harm to oneself or others.

Physical requirements:

Talk/Hear: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Stand/Sit: The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing.

Walk: Frequently walking through job sites.

Use hands/fingers to handle or feel: Frequently use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things. Able to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. Able to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Able to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

Stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl: Frequently climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping, and handling materials.

Carry, weight, Lift: The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to (frequently - 25 pounds; routinely - 50 pounds).
