Shipping Clerk

We are hiring a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to support daily shipping operations in a fast-paced refrigerated warehouse environment. This position is responsible for processing shipping documentation, entering and tracking orders, preparing pick tickets and Bills of Lading, coordinating with warehouse and sales teams, and ensuring shipments are accurate and properly documented.

The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computer systems, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse administration, food production, or produce distribution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate shipping and order information in the warehouse/ERP system
• Enter product receipts, shipments, and inventory activity into the system
• Monitor orders throughout the day for new orders and changes
• Generate and print pick tickets for warehouse personnel
• Distribute pick tickets and shipping paperwork to the appropriate warehouse teams
• Verify pick tickets, tallies, and shipping documents for accuracy
• Prepare and organize Bills of Lading (BOLs) and supporting documentation
• Ensure paperwork is matched to the correct shipment and carrier
• Monitor trucks as they arrive and coordinate shipping documentation
• Identify and communicate order discrepancies or variances to supervisors
• Make revisions to orders, pick tickets, BOLs, and other shipping documents as needed
• Communicate sales orders and purchase orders to warehouse personnel
• Coordinate shipment information and requirements with drivers and carriers
• Work with sales and internal teams to resolve order or shipping issues
• Review customs documentation and communicate with customs brokers when necessary
• Provide inventory information and documentation to warehouse personnel
• Maintain accurate shipping records and filing systems
• Protect confidential company and personnel information
• Follow all food safety, GMP, health and safety, SOP, and company procedures
• Perform additional shipping and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• 2–3 years of shipping, receiving, logistics, warehouse administration, or record management experience preferred
• Experience in the produce, food, manufacturing, or distribution industry is a plus
• Experience with ERP, WMS, or warehouse management software preferred
• Experience with FAMOUS® or similar ERP systems is a plus
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
• Strong data entry and record-keeping abilities
• Good math, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong follow-through and organizational skills

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a refrigerated warehouse environment, generally 45–55°F
• Warehouse may be noisy due to packaging equipment and forklift traffic
• Combination of computer/office work and time spent in the warehouse
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, reaching, and handling products or packaging
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., with regular lifting up to approximately 30 lbs.
