Veterinary Technician Supervisor

Overview Seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor. Location: 425 N Henry St, Alexandria, VA 22314. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $26 - $35/hr based on experience. VCA Old Town is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join and lead our technical team at our busy AAHA-accredited 7-doctor practice in Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities In the supervisor role, direct work flow on the floor. Assist in the educational development of technicians and their skills. Help with the interview process for potential new hires. Technician scheduling and staffing/coverage where needed. Assist in basic protocol and standard procedure training. Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience. Mentor technicians within the department. Work with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service. Ensure that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff. Qualifications Credential requirements: CVT, RVT, or LVT. Experience in physical examinations and patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, surgical preparation and assisting, dentistry, radiology, laboratory work, venipuncture, catheter placement, pharmacy, patient recovery, and compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
