Saw Operator

Job Title Job Responsibilities: Responsible for operating a computer-controlled saw to accurately cut lumber according to production specifications. This role also assists with assembling wood roof and floor trusses using pre-cut materials, truss plates, and assembly equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Job Duties:

• Operate a computer-controlled saw to cut lumber according to work orders, blueprints, and production specifications.
• Review production schedules and verify material dimensions before cutting.
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure accurate, high-quality cuts while following all safety procedures.
• Assemble wood roof and floor trusses according to design specifications and production schedules.
• Position and align pre-cut lumber on assembly tables or jigs.
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and automated equipment to secure truss plates.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure trusses meet accuracy and structural integrity standards.
• Study blueprints, sketches, and building plans to determine dimensions, layouts, and material requirements.
• Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, pencils, chalk, and measuring tools as needed.
• Shape or trim materials to specified measurements using hand tools, machines, or power saws when required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous manufacturing, construction, or assembly experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure is required.
• Experience working with hand tools.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds individually.
• Heavier materials are handled using team lifts, mechanical assists, or conveyors.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
• Repetitive hand and arm movements required.
• Work boots or steel toes.
