Our accounting team is small and hands-on, which means you'll see the full picture of how a company's books come together and have real room to learn and grow. This is an in-office position.About the Role We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to own accounts payable and support month-end close, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. You'll work directly with the Accounting Manager, CFO, and other senior leadership and get exposure to a wide range of work, from accounts payable, journal entries, and account reconciliations to fixed assets, payroll accounting, and cash reporting. This is a great fit for an early-career accountant who wants to build a strong foundation and grow into a Staff or Senior Accountant role.What You'll DoPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and recurring monthly entries, in Sage IntacctProcess and code vendor invoices in Bill.comPrepare weekly AP payment runs and maintain the AP aging, following up with vendors and internal approvers on open itemsReconcile vendor statements, resolve billing discrepancies, and keep vendor records and W-9s up to dateReview employee expense reports and credit card transactions for proper coding and receipt supportReconcile balance sheet accounts monthly, including bank, credit card, undeposited funds, and prepaid accounts, and research and resolve reconciling itemsSupport month-end close by completing assigned close tasks accurately and on scheduleMaintain the fixed asset schedule, including recording additions and supporting the monthly depreciation entryAssist with payroll GL entries and allocations, and help build import files for Sage IntacctAssist with audit, tax, and private equity reporting requests by pulling and organizing supporting documentationIdentify opportunities to clean up, document, and improve accounting processesSupport ad hoc projects as neededWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting0–2 years of accounting experienceSolid understanding of debits and credits, accruals, and the basic financial statementsWorking knowledge of Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tablesStrong attention to detail and a habit of checking your own workGood organization and the ability to manage multiple deadlines during closeClear communication and a willingness to ask questions and learnNice to HaveExperience with Sage Intacct or another cloud ERPExposure to Bill.com, Expensify, ADP, or similar AP, expense, and payroll toolsWhat We OfferCompetitive salaryHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) / retirement planPaid time off and holidaysOne remote day per week after the training periodHands-on training from the Accounting Manager and direct exposure to the CFO and senior leadershipBroad exposure to the full accounting cycle and a clear path to growthExposure to accounting and reporting for a private equity-backed company, including acquisitions and integrations HB NEXT Corporation
