Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist

Summary This position is located in Vicksburg National Military Park, in the Division of Maintenance. Major Duties Exercise the full range of supervisory duties, working with subordinate staff to execute established work plans, set priorities, and establish work schedules that support park maintenance operations. Utilize Facility Management Software Systems (FMSS) to manage assets, conduct inventories and condition assessments, and develop accurate deferred maintenance estimates for annual and multi‑year planning. Coordinate project scopes, goals, and objectives; facilitate planning and design; prepare spending plans and budget protocols; manage construction activities; and ensure complete and compliant project documentation. Administer a comprehensive safety and training program to eliminate at‑risk behaviors, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure a safe working environment for all staff. Manage park roads, grounds, and facility operations in alignment with the NPS Environmental Audit Program, NEPA, the National Historic Preservation Act, and standards for protecting cultural and natural resources. Education No substitution of education for experience at the grade level of this announcement. Requirements U.S. Citizenship required. Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication. Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males. Must hold a valid driver’s license; required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Driving Record. Must wear a National Park Service uniform and comply with uniform standards; a uniform allowance will be provided. Willingness to work on‑call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and shift work as required. Willingness to travel overnight away from home.
