1st Shift Material Handler

QEP manufactures, markets and sells a comprehensive line of installation tools, adhesives, and other flooring-related products for the professional installer and do-it-yourselfer. Position: Material Handler Schedule: Monday - Friday; 6:00 am – 2:30 pm and OT as needed FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Responsibilities According to pick ticket, select designated product in the correct quantity and palletize for customer orders. Create and track audit trail of product placement to trace location; locate product within warehouse and place product in designated areas. Expedite immediate request for service from employees pulling orders. Count, weigh, and record number of materials moved or handled. Select items from stock as specified by orders. Wrap, pack, and arrange for shipment; review production/shipping/receiving documentation for accuracy and take corrective actions when errors are located. Read work orders to follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Maintain constant review of stored material throughout the facility; monitor unsafe stack patterns and implement corrections. Perform daily, quarterly or annual cycle counts as required. Maintain a clean and organized facility, including sweeping, trash removal, and consolidating pallets. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety rules and reporting accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions to management. Qualifications High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken. Basic math skills (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction). Two to three years related work experience. Ability to lift from floor level to a height of four feet. Must be able to see and to step over obstacles with a height of six inches, and around obstacles measuring 40" x 48". Regularly lift and/or move items weighing 50-70 pounds; up to 100 lbs. occasionally with mechanical aids and team lifting. Must be able to hear forklift and related equipment. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods. QEP offers a competitive compensation package with comprehensive benefits.
