The California Lottery is looking for a strategic Senior Brand Marketing Manager to join our energetic marketing team to help California become the #1 Lottery in the United States. The California Lottery is a multi-billion-dollar enterprise headquartered in Sacramento. It is one of the few state agencies that is a revenue generator, not accepting taxpayer dollars from the state's general fund. Our mission is to provide supplemental funding to California schools while simultaneously supporting local communities. Ninety-five cents of every dollar spent by our players goes back to local communities in the form of contributions to public schools and colleges, prizes and retailer compensation. In Fiscal year 2025-26, the California Lottery generated sales of approximately $9.1 billion with over $1.9 billion earned for California public schools. Lottery products are sold at more than 23,000 retail locations throughout the state including independent neighborhood shops, convenience stores, liquor stores, supermarkets and more. The Brand Strategy and Integrated Marketing Team (BSIM) leads the development and implementation of the Lottery's marketing strategies and programs that drive brand growth, support product launches, and achieve the Lottery's business objectives. Under the general direction of the Supervisor II of Brand Strategy & Integrated Marketing and the Chief of Consumer Marketing, the Senior Brand Marketing Manager is responsible for the development of brand strategy and integrated marketing plans, in collaboration with marketing agencies and cross-functional teams within Marketing to identify opportunities to evolve the brand, build and deliver innovative campaigns, and optimize the Lottery's integrated marketing planning and execution. The Senior Brand Marketing Manager acts as a lead for the BSIM team and may also act as the contract manager for some of the Lottery's marketing agencies and is responsible for making recommendations on program budgets and managing advertising expenditures. The position leads campaign development from strategy to final creative production including, but not limited to, spearheading the development of key art and creative assets for traditional and digital channels such as TV, video, radio, streaming audio, out-of-home, digital advertising, social media, retail marketing, events/experiential marketing, sponsorships, and Lottery's owned channels and platforms. This job is only eligible to be headquartered at Lottery Headquarters in Sacramento or Chatsworth District Office in LA County and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule. Employees must be able to report to their assigned headquarters office 2 days a week as assigned. Travel expense to and from assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee. Eligibility for telework requires the employee to reside in California per California Government Code Section 14200 which states: "telecommuting means the partial or total substitution of computers or telecommunication technologies, or both, for the commute to work by employees residing in California.
