Job Purpose Responsibilities include overseeing the receiving, storing, and shipping of materials or finished goods: ensuring materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory, and finished goods are packaged and shipped in a timely manner; managing team activities, staffing, training, performance; reviewing receipt of materials; maintaining inventory control; ensuring availability for production or marketing schedules; establishing and modifying procedures; maintaining documentation; selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities Report inventory status changes and movement. Supervise Stockroom and Shipping Employees. Compile bill of materials using product knowledge. Prepare all required documents in a formal, concise format and provide justification and approvals where required. Maintain efficient flow of materials, inventory, and staging to manufacturing operations. Participate in periodic inventory counts; conduct inventories as requested by management. Create, update, and modify SOPs. Write up investigations and deviations. Assist in shipping and receiving raw materials, intermediate and bulk products. Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret extensive variety of information in technical, mathematical, and diagrammatic and database application forms. Use advanced PC skills, Excel, and database applications. Operate as a detail-oriented self-starter in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Accomplish daily tasks with minimal supervision. Ensure orders are picked and kitted to meet shipping schedules. Coordinate with production team for availability of orders/products. Supervise clerks in shipping, storing, and receiving. Assist with inventory counts of finished goods and packaging materials. Inspect physical condition of the warehouse and suggest improvements to save time and reduce costs. Train staff on company procedures, shipping functions, and inventory counts; maintain "next man up" practices to prevent downtime. Education And Experience 1+ years in a Supervisor/Lead role. 2-4 years experience in inventory control, material handling, and receiving. Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent Oracle 11i, MS-Excel, MS-Office, and MRP knowledge. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Team player willing to interact with multiple groups, internal and external customers. Ability to read and understand English. Flexible with schedule changes and ability to work extended hours when required. Physical requirement: capable of lifting 50 lbs. Equipment, safety, product handling, customer service and problem-solving skills. BS/AA degree with APICS training; advanced planning systems knowledge is a plus.
