The Housekeeping Aide has the opportunity to positively affect the lives of people every day! This vital position plays a big role in our day-to-day operations by providing quality life for each and every resident.Housekeeping Aides have the ability to read well enough to follow directions, and understand the dangers that comes with working with the chemicals, equipment and supplies in the housekeeping department. Verbal communication skills are important to carry on conversations with residents, co-workers and visitors in an understandable manner. Housekeeping Aides are continually learning and growing by participating in educational sessions, inservice training and demonstrations.Housekeeping Aides have a strong desire to relate to and work with the elderly. They possess high personal integrity, a caring attitude and portray a positive image. Housekeeping Aides find fulfillment in building personal relationships and providing excellent office services.Housekeeping Aides understand the physical demands their jobs require and realize they need to:Pass a physical exam.Lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc.Lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds occasionally each work day.Lift twenty-five (25) pounds consistently.Be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist.Go up and down stairs.Bend, stoop and twist almost constantly throughout the day.Push and pull a cart requiring twenty-five (25) pounds of force.Bend and twist while sweeping, mopping, etc.Use the floor buffer.Remain active and on their feet for up to four (4) hours at a time.See well enough to read container labels, measuring equipment, written directions, etc.Key result areas include:Consistently using the Vetter Health Services Mission, Vision and Values to guide everyday decisions and actions.Demonstrating a consistently positive, respectful and constructive attitude with both residents and staff.Demonstrating initiative, active problem solving and a continual desire to improve customer service.Providing quality housekeeping services that ensures a clean, safe, comfortable, attractive and sanitary environment is maintained.Creating and maintaining an environment which allows each resident to adjust to their limitations and recognize the dignity and worth of each individual.Participating in in-service educational classes and meetings directed at improving your ability to meet the needs of the residents.Maintaining and following established safety precautions and infection control procedures when performing day-to-day responsibilities.Knowing, understanding and performing responsibilities that meet regulatory and company standards.Serving as an effective teacher, model, and consultant for other staff.Being a reliable and positive member of the facility's team.Creating a cooperative working relationship with other departments.At Brookestone Acres we encourage personal growth, support educational opportunities, endorse continual learning and encourage people to stretch beyond their comfort zones.
