Registered Nurse - Trauma Stepdown UnitLocation: West VirginiaAssignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.Schedule: Night shift – 4x12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM), weekdays, and every other weekend required.Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a Trauma Stepdown Unit. This role involves providing nursing care to multi-system-injured trauma patients and surgical patients in a fast-paced Intermediate Care (IMC) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in trauma and step-down care, ensuring quality patient outcomes in a multidisciplinary team environment.Responsibilities:Deliver nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions.Monitor and assess patient vital signs and conditions.Administer medications and perform IV starts, telemetries, and conscious sedation.Participate in patient care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings.Float as necessary to cover floor beds as needed during shifts.Maintain accurate patient records and charting using Cerner.Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:2 years of RN experience required; 1 year of experience in the specialty is preferred.Current WV or Compact RN License required.Certifications: BLS, ACLS; CPI and TNCC are preferred.Strong skills in IV administration, telemetry monitoring, and managing critical care medications.Experience with Level 1 trauma care is highly recommended.
