Assistant Controller

Primary Purpose The Assistant Controller supports the financial integrity of United Ag by overseeing core accounting functions related to the cooperative. This role is responsible for general ledger oversight, financial reporting, and supporting audit processes, while partnering with operational leaders to ensure accurate cost tracking, inventory valuation, and budget alignment across the cooperative. Major Responsibilities and Duties Accounting & Financial Oversight Support and review general ledger activity for all operations Assist in month‑end and year‑end close processes Ensure accuracy of financial statements and supporting schedules Monitor account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies Financial Reporting & Compliance Assist in preparation of internal and external financial reports Support audit processes (internal/external) and documentation requests Ensure compliance with cooperatives accounting standards Assist in tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements Budgeting & Forecasting Support annual budgeting process across departments Analyze variances and provide insight to leadership Partner with CFO on forecasting and financial planning Perform any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor Physical Requirements/Working Conditions The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
