Maintenance Technician

Description Fincantieri Marine Systems North America has an immediate hiring need for a Maintenance Technician in Jacksonville, FL. This is a 1st shift role, Monday – Friday 6:00AM – 3:00PM. Position Summary The Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient operation of company facilities, vehicles and equipment through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and preventative care. This role requires a hands‑on professional with mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the flexibility to support a variety of maintenance needs. Domestic travel may be required. Essential Functions Perform general facilities maintenance, including basic plumbing/piping, carpentry, painting, and minor repairs Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, fluid checks, and basic inspections Complete preventative maintenance on facilities, vehicles, and equipment to minimize downtime Troubleshoot mechanical and maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as needed Requirements Comfortable with residential piping and basic vehicle maintenance Ability to use hand and power tools and follow safety procedures Must have basic Microsoft Office Suite computer skills. Must have strong organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor. All employees are required to adhere to ISO and OHSAS policies established by FMSNA and shall have high values for safety awareness. Other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma required, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 2 Years of Experience required Experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, and/or defense contractor industries preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand or walk; use hands and arms to grasp, handle, manipulate, or feel objects and controls; stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch; and speak or hear. The employee may lift and/or move up to 35lbs regularly and up to 50lbs occasionally. Work is performed both inside and outside in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, wet, humid, dry, and arid climates. The employee may also be required to work in confined spaces and at varying heights. PPE is required to minimize noise exposure, moving machinery, weather elements, and other potential hazards, including the risk of injury.
