Our biggest priority is providing outstanding customer service & revolutionizing the industry through the use of the latest technology.In your role as Transfer Refuse Specialist, you will be responsible for safely operating a tractor trailer truck and ancillary equipment on assigned route to haul materials from designated sites.Duties include but are not limited to:Perform pre and post trip inspections of truckOperate truck in accordance with DOT requirements as well as all local, municipal, state, and federal lawsMount and dismount a heavy-duty truck many times each dayComplete assigned route daily, leaving pick-up location free of debrisHaul waste or recyclable materials to transfer stations, landfills, or processing facilitiesSecure loads, operate hydraulic systems to load and unload containers, and maintain the cleanliness of the vehicleProfessionally communicates with customers as neededNotify appropriate parties of any accidents, injuries, property damage, or any other incidentsNotify appropriate parties of any service interruptions such as closed lots, blocked containers, safety hazards etc.Attend training programs, briefings, and meetings as requiredImmediately communicate mechanical problems to Mechanic and SupervisorMaintains cleanliness of vehicleMaintains professional appearanceThe successful candidate profile includes:High school diploma or GED preferredMust possess a CDL AMust be able to pass criminal background check, physical and DOT drug screenMust have safe driving record, including no avoidable accidents in the past five yearsMust have ability to communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and internal customer serviceMust be able to sit, kneel, crouch, stoop, crawl, balance, hear, talk and smellMust be able to lift up to 75 poundsMust be able to start as early as 5:00AMMay be required to work in emergency situationsAt Priority Waste, there are fundamental qualities that we look for in all our employees:People who excel in a collaborative environment (team players)A willingness to do whatever the situation calls forAn excitement to be part of a growing organizationA genuine understanding that the quality of your work has a direct impact on the company's successThe Transfer Refuse Specialist will start/end each day at the company's transfer station in Pontiac, MI
