Data Entry Representative About the Position Company: Walgreens Location: Indiana, USA Salary: $20-30/Hour Job Responsibilities In accordance with national and federal rules, you will play a key role in information entry and patient registration, manage data entry decisions, and respond to client inquiries while working under limited supervision. You will follow standard procedures, maintain agency policies, and use pharmacy systems to record patient and drug data. Your responsibilities may vary by branch. Key Duties Use Walgreens prescription record entry tactics and guidelines to register new patients. Handle prescription requests within HIPAA policies and enter orders for processing. Troubleshoot missing prescription data and interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes). Resolve data entry exceptions. Handle inbound and outbound communications with patients, prescribers, and insurers. Assist pharmacists on-premise and remote. Obtain a pharmacy technician certification within the first 90 days and maintain active license. Fundamental Qualifications At least 18 years old. High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills: power on/off PC, use mouse, open applications, print, navigate the internet. Basic web search skills: open browser, enter URLs, use search engines, bookmark sites, navigate forward/backward buttons, complete online forms. Intermediate keyboarding: minimum 25 WPM, touch typing, document formatting. Proficient in written and verbal communication. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment. At least 18 months as a certified pharmacy technician with a state or national certification. Experience providing customer support to internal and external customers.
