To learn more, visit nmrk.com or follow @newmark. :Senior Real Estate Appraiser leads and completes complex commercial, industrial, multifamily, and specialty type valuations, from scope definition through delivery of USPAP-compliant reports for the purpose of mortgage underwriting, acquisition/disposition, portfolio analysis, financial reporting purposes, estate purposes, dispute resolution and other intended uses . Senior Appraisers receive an annual base $50,000 draw against commissions payment (except in certain markets that are higher given min. wage requirements - i.e. NY, CA, WA - the specific states if min wage requirements are higher). Senior appraisers earn commission fees which are offset against the draw and based on completed valuation, advisory and related services multiplied by a competitive commission rate. ESSENTIAL DUT

IES:Prepare complete appraisal reports independently on complex properties. Oversight of work includes collaboration with senior level staff as well as review of repo rts.Conduct complete appraisals, examining and evaluating commercial properties to establish market va lue.This role conducts market and comparable research, develops income, sales comparison, and cost approaches, performs highest-and-best-use analyses, and presents and defends conclusions to clients, lenders, and coun sel.The appraiser also manages assignments, ensures QA/QC and regulatory compliance, mentors junior staff, and supports proposals and business developm ent.Make independent decisions and provide judgement in the development of the appraisal for complex propert ies.Inspect propert ies.Complete formal review responses with guidance if requested from senior staff memb ers.Engage directly in client meeti ngs.Maintain knowledge of current government regulations, zoning laws and appraisal standa rds.Understand all necessary software programs used in the busin ess.Maintain familiarity with necessary data sour ces.May perform other duties as assig ned.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERI

ENCE:Bachelor's Degree, preferably in real estate or other related subjects such as economics and finance. Preference is given to MS or MBA in real es tate.Must have state appropriate Certified General Appraiser Lic ense.Minimum of 3 - 6 years professional experience as a Commercial Real Estate Appra iser.Must have experience and be skilled in writing appraisal and appraisal reviews of complex commercial proper ties.Solid understanding of real property valuation concepts, commercial real estate terminology, and property tax jurisdictional processes and proced ures.Knowledge of Argus prefe rred.Strong analytical and writing sk ills.Strong communication skills, with both clients and market participants related to rese arch.Strong organizational and multi-tasking sk ills.
