Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Material Handler in a fast-paced metal service center environment. We supply raw materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and red metals to a diverse range of manufacturing and industrial customers. Our focus is on delivering high-quality metal products efficiently to meet customer demands with a one-day turnaround service.

Responsibilities

• Pull and prepare customer orders, including metal sheets and metal bars.
• Extensive training and/or recertify on overhead cranes and side loaders, with cross-training on metal saws, shears, and laser machines.
• Accurately measure, count, and verify materials to ensure order accuracy.
• Load and stage materials for shipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies when handling materials and equipment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in picking, packing, and general labor tasks.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting.
• Good attitude and light mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency with measuring tapes, inventory management, and RF scanners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 5075 lbs.
• Comfortable working in an industrial/warehouse environment.
• Frequent standing, bending, and repetitive motion required.

Work Environment

Work in a metal distribution and processing facility that is fast-paced and team-oriented. Expect exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and metal products. The environment supports collaboration with amenities like refrigerators, microwaves, and on-site water and Gatorade.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC 28273.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
