MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST

Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a LABORATOTY SECTION LEAD-MLS to join our LAB team! The Laboratory Section Lead Tech acts as the lead tech within one or more laboratory modalities (Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology/Molecular Diagnostics, or Point-of-Care Testing). Has technical oversight of their section with respect to new implementations, quality assurance activities, and training and competency of staff. Performs testing and routine duties of an MLT/MLS. HOURS: 1.0 FTE/80 hours every two weeks working primarily PM shifts along with weekend & holiday rotation; will be expected to cover additional shifts as needed. Typical shifts are 8-10 hours in length. May need to cover days from time to time Experience/Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field. Possesses active Medical Technology (MT-ASCP), Medical Laboratory Science certification (MLS-ASCP), or equivalent. Has a minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience. Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position. Current BLS certification may need to be obtained—All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
