Registered Respiratory Therapist - (Part-time)

Respiratory Therapist Our hospital provides high-quality care that transforms the lives of those living with disabling injuries and illnesses. Compensation & Schedule $40–$43 per hour based on experience. Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 12:00pm. Essential Functions Performs medically prescribed respiratory care procedures according to physician orders, approved protocols, and clinical practice guidelines. Assesses patients’ condition using professional judgment and collaborates with physicians. Evaluates appropriateness of therapy for patients and requests re‑orders when necessary. Communicates with nursing and physicians regarding discrepancies or concerns. Participates in patient rounds, team conferences, shift reports, continuing education, and mandatory in‑services. Documents all procedures, patient education, and responses to therapy. Transmits relevant patient information to oncoming shift. Maintains and cleans/sterilizes equipment and work area; reports malfunctions or breakage. Sets up, maintains, and removes equipment from patient care areas. Provides respiratory care education to patients and families. Assists during special procedures, responds to critical situations, and stands by during emergencies. Ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, assessing risks and implementing precautions. Complies with safety and infection prevention standards. Maintains regular attendance and completes required trainings. Performs other duties assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization. Minimum Job Requirements One year experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (acute care setting preferred). Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist. Current BLS certification. Competency in provision of care per established standards and age‑specific guidelines. Critical thinking skills and understanding of treatment costs and financial support. General computer skills (data entry, word processing, email, records management). Effective organizational and time‑management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection prevention standards. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all organizational levels. Physical Requirements Significant standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling for prolonged periods. Gross and precise motor functions with ability to lift up to 50lbs. Exposure to bodily fluids and visual, auditory, and manual dexterity requirements for patient assessment and equipment operation. #J-18808-Ljbffr
