We are looking for an Advertising Copywriter who writes direct response video scripts and static ads that consistently turn into scaling winners.

In order to achieve this, you will dig into customer pain points, dissect what is already winning, and write the hooks, angles and scripts our editors, designers and creators turn into new ads every week.

Results

• Write ads that "graduate" every weekly batch: new creatives that reach 10+ sales within 7 days.
• Hit a personal graduation rate of 3%+ of ads launched, rising toward 5%.
• Write graduates that hold weekly CPA targets: Dr. Melasmin $160 (stretch $120), MyoGlow $240.
• Contribute to one new control per product per month: an ad that scales past $10k spend while holding CPA.
• Prove at least one new pain point or angle per month.

Responsibilities

• Write direct response video ad scripts (UGC, expert and esthetician, talking-head, demo) and static ad copy for our skincare products and beauty devices.
• Deliver the hooks, angles and scripts for each weekly batch against briefs set by our Ad Copy Chief.
• Iterate on winners: write new hooks, angles and formats that extend a winning ad and beat the current control.
• Research customers through reviews, comments, competitor ads and forums to find pain points, objections and the exact language they use.
• Dissect winning swipes and competitor ads using our copy frameworks, and turn what you learn into new tests.
• Read the results of every ad you write: what graduated, what died and why. Bring a clear hypothesis into the next batch.
• Work with video editors, designers and creators so the finished ad delivers what the script intended.
• Hit batch deadlines so launches go live on schedule.
• Keep every claim compliant with FTC rules and ad platform policies.

Requirements

• A track record of direct response ads you wrote that scaled on paid social (Meta, TikTok or YouTube). You can show the ads and their results: spend, CPA, ROAS or sales.
• Minimum 2 years of D2C copywriting experience.
• Experience writing video ad scripts, not only brand, social or blog copy.
• Able to write at volume: several scripts and variations per week, with fast, direct feedback.
• Native-level written English for a US audience.
• Experience in skincare, beauty, wellness or other DTC brands strongly preferred.
• Willing to complete a copywriting test as part of the process.
• Work 6 days/week.
• Work 10 hours/day.
• Read 2 books/month.
