Senior Director, Assistant Controller

Who you are Metropolis is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead core accounting operations, stand up processes, and drive the close. This role translates strategy into scalable, actionable processes. What you\'ll do Close Leadership: Own monthly/quarterly close activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability. Process Build: Design and implement new policies, controls, and workflows (GAAP/IFRS, revenue recognition, consolidations). Systems & Tools: Drive automation/AI adoption in reconciliations, reporting, and consolidation. Talent Development: Build and mentor a growing accounting team, instilling accountability and high performance. Partnering: Work closely with cross-functional leads (Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Operations) to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy. What we\'re looking for Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required. 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership. Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP/IFRS) and consolidation experience. Proven track record of implementing process improvements and leveraging technology/automation. Hands-on leader who has built close-to-reporting processes in complex environments. Comfortable with ambiguity and building from ground up. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across cultures and geographies. Our goal is to build an inclusive culture where everyone has a voice and the best idea wins. The anticipated base salary for this position is $190,000.00 USD to $220,000.00 USD annually. The actual base salary offered is determined by factors including qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. Base salary is one component of Metropolis’s total compensation package, which may also include healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, disability coverage, life insurance, stock options, bonuses, and more. Metropolis values in-person collaboration and maintains an office-first model, requiring on-site presence on a regular basis. Metropolis may utilize an automated employment decision tool (AEDT) to assess or evaluate candidacy. AEDTs are used to assess qualifications and responsibilities listed in the job posting.
