Litigation Attorney, Auto and Trucking Defense

Distinct | North America

Litigation Attorney, Auto and Trucking Defense | Jacksonville, FL | $125,000 to $200,000 | Auto Defense (Trucking and Transportation)
Freight never stops moving through Jacksonville. Port traffic, distribution centers, and Interstate 95 and Interstate 10 meeting in the middle of the city. Where trucks go, claims follow, and those claims need defense lawyers who can talk about hours of service logs and ECM data as comfortably as they talk about damages.

I'm hiring that kind of lawyer on behalf of an insurance defense firm with a Jacksonville team.

What does the work look like?

Defending trucking companies, drivers, logistics businesses and their carriers in Florida auto and commercial vehicle claims

Rapid response work after serious accidents, preserving evidence and getting experts involved early

Reconstruction, biomechanical and medical experts, and the depositions that go with them

Owning your files: strategy, discovery, motions, mediation and reporting

Courtroom time, from hearings to trial, with first chair opportunities for those ready to lead

Who am I looking for?

2+ years of Florida litigation experience, ideally auto or trucking defense

Calm under pressure when a file is serious and the client is anxious

Commercial vehicle experience is a real plus, though a strong auto defense background will be taken seriously

How does it scale with experience?
This isn't a beginner's seat with a grand label. Experienced attorneys will take the catastrophic injury files, lead trial teams, guide colleagues through their first rapid response calls and build direct relationships with transportation clients. That's why the salary range is so wide. It's deliberately set to pay senior people properly.

What's on offer?

$125,000 to $200,000 depending on experience

Hybrid working from Jacksonville

A clear line toward partnership for attorneys who grow their practice

Why trucking?
Trucking defense is one of the more technical corners of auto work. The evidence is richer, the stakes are higher and the experts are sharper. Lawyers who get good at it tend to stay in demand, because the skill set is hard to fake and slow to build.

If you've been handling auto defense and want heavier, more interesting files, this is a sensible next step.
