Facility Services, Inc. (FSI) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated buyer to support one of our strategic partners in delivering critical Base Operations Support Services at Fort Belvoir, Virginia . J ob Summary Thebuyer handles orders that involve making judgments such as choosing which specific product or material from the established vendor product lines which will satisfy the customer’s needs or determining the price to be quoted when pricing involves more than merely referring to a price list or making some simple mathematical calculations. Responsibilities Determining availability of ordered items and suggesting substitutes when necessary Advising expected delivery date and method of delivery Recording order and customer information on order sheets Checking order sheets for accuracy and adequacy of information Order follow-up Maintains order files and verifies shipping invoices against original orders. Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience in purchasing; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Will also have knowledge and general proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other required software that is used at the job site. Experience in O&M to include support of a workforce that is responsible for O&M and repair of all facility systems, subsystems, and selected equipment typically found in a Base Operating Services contract. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record.
