Location: Hagerstown, Maryland

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 4x12 hour shifts per week; patient ratios 1:4 to 1:6; weekend coverage required (12 weekend shifts per contract); floating required across all Med/Surg and IMC units

Highlights:

• Float Pool position rotating between Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) units
• Epic EMR system utilized throughout facility (recent Epic experience required)
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
• Diverse patient population including adults and geriatrics with varied diagnoses across multiple specialties
• Orientation and annual continuing education modules provided through Relias/Net Learning portal
• 13-week travel assignment with potential for extension after required separation period

Requirements:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience in a hospital setting
• Minimum 2 years of recent IMC/Stepdown experience in a hospital setting (hard stop requirement)
• Recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Recent Epic EMR experience required (must be documented on submission)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius (local candidates not accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Influenza vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Two-step PPD required (no exceptions)
• Must be comfortable floating to all Med/Surg and IMC specialty units

Clinical Expertise Required:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Management and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Ventilator management including tracheostomy care and chronic trach/vent patients
• Experience caring for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
• Blood product administration and transfusion management
• Post-cardiac catheterization care with TR Band management
• Chest tube management, lumbar drains, and neurological drain care
• PCA and epidural analgesia management
• High-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and non-invasive airway management
• Insulin and heparin protocol management with titration experience
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases
• TPN and feeding tube management
• Wound care and wound vac experience

Patient Population & Diagnoses:

This position provides care across multiple specialty areas including IMC, Med/Surg, observation, trauma surgical, orthopedic joint replacement, stroke, palliative and renal, ED inpatient, women's services, and bariatric surgery. Patient diagnoses include post-ICU/STICU treatment, multiple trauma, general medical-surgical admissions, general surgery patients, cardiac patients requiring drips, DKA, NSTEMI, post-STEMI, CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, renal failure, substance withdrawal, and various post-surgical patients.
