Job Title: Line Worker Job Description

Join a dynamic team in the assembly of storm doors and retractable screen doors. This role involves working on an assembly line to ensure high-quality products and efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Work on an assembly line manufacturing storm doors and retractable screen doors.
• Assemble door components by attaching handles, bolting frames, installing glass, and using hand tools/drills.
• Inspect products for quality, including checking for scratches, dents, and missing parts.
• Package finished products and prepare them for shipment.
• Cross-train in multiple areas such as door frame assembly, drilling, and packaging.
• Work in a fast-paced production environment that produces up to 1,000 doors per day.
• Remain on your feet throughout the shift and perform frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and repetitive hand motions.
• Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Pick and pull orders using a headset-directed picking system.
• Prepare door displays that are shipped to retail stores.
• Use hand tools and measuring tapes when assembling and preparing display products.
• Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Work in a physically demanding environment, standing and moving throughout the shift.
• Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Work Environment

The work environment is a clean production setting with varying temperatures, from 62 to 110 degrees in summer. The team is diverse, with 250 individuals speaking 17 different languages. Dress code includes steel-toed boots, eyewear, and hearing protection provided by the company. Employees must wear pants or jeans, and attire such as head dresses lower than shoulder length or skirts is not permitted. Shifts are typically from 6am to 3:30pm, depending on the location.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
