Sequoia Machine Works is a growing precision machine shop serving the aerospace, defense, industrial, and commercial manufacturing industries. We are looking for an experienced Machinist II who takes pride in producing high-quality parts, solving machining challenges, and working in a team-oriented environment.

If you enjoy setting up and operating CNC equipment, working from complex blueprints, and producing precision components with minimal supervision, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC Mills. We are a HAAS Shop.
• Machine parts to blueprint specifications while maintaining tight tolerances.
• Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work holding required for each job.
• Adjust machine speeds, feeds, and tooling to optimize quality and efficiency.
• Inspect completed work using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
• Troubleshoot machining and production issues to maintain quality and productivity.
• Report quality concerns or nonconforming products to the Supervisor or Quality Inspector.
• Complete work orders and production documentation accurately.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working condition.
• Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality management requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience with CNC milling, machine setup, and precision inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and work holding.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Good organizational and written communication skills.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person in accordance with ITAR regulations.

Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires:

• Standing for extended periods
• Frequent walking and repetitive hand movements
• Lifting, pushing, or carrying materials and parts
• Working around machine tools and production equipment
