Museum Interpreter (Tour Guide) Job Description

We are hiring: Museum Interpreter (Tour Guide) This is a part-time, in-person, hourly seasonal (May-October) position with a flexible schedule. Responsibilities Greet groups of visitors and launch a video orientation. Present information about Shaker history, community, and religion to Museum visitors. Interpret the Enfield Shaker site. Treat all visitors with respect, dignity, and kindness. Perform and adhere to opening and closing procedures. Assist in Museum Gift Shop when necessary. Assist with light-duty housekeeping tasks when necessary. Other duties as requested by the supervising staff. Must be able to work some weekends between May and October. Physical Demands Ability to stand or walk for more than 30 minutes without sitting down. Ability to go up and down stairs multiple times a day. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required; college students are invited to apply. Interest in museum studies, public history, or historic preservation is desirable.
