From engineering systems that save lives to leading programs that change the battlefield—find your place in the future of defense.Systems Engineer – High Assurance Cryptographic SystemsUltra ProLogic is expanding its encryption business and seeking a Systems Engineer to help architect, implement, and certify high-assurance cryptographic systems used by the U.S. Department of Defense, NATO, and allied partners. You will work on security-critical systems that must meet NSA High Assurance (HA) certification requirements, contributing directly to cryptographic information assurance architectures, certification artifacts, and fielded systems protecting real-world tactical and strategic networks. If you are motivated by deep technical challenges—secure embedded design and building systems that withstand formal certification scrutiny—this role offers rare and meaningful work.What You'll Work On:High-assurance cryptographic and key management systems supporting secure communications, remote rekey, and lifecycle managementEmbedded software and firmware operating within defined crypto, INFOSEC, and High Assurance boundariesArchitecture and implementation of cryptographic information assurance (IA) software and systemsModernization of legacy C baselines and architecting Rust-based embedded solutions for security- and safety-critical environmentsSystems that undergo formal NSA High Assurance certification, from requirements through fielding and sustainmentRole Responsibilities:Perform System Requirements Analysis to satisfy stakeholder requirements, and support multi-disciplined team (software/firmware/hardware) in developing implementation requirementsPerform System Architecture and Design Synthesis from Requirements Analysis artifactsSupport program milestone design reviews (e.g. System Design Review (SDR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), etc.) to include creation of presentation materials, attendance and presentationConduct/Support verification and validation to include systems and security testing.Creation and delivery of Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs) to include, but not limited to:System/Subsystem Specification (SSS)Software/Hardware Requirements Specification (SHRS)Interface Requirements Specification (IRS)Interface Design Document (IDD)Interface Control Document (ICD)Key and Certificate Management Architecture/Plan (KCMA/KCMP)Security Evaluation Document (SED)System Test PlansSecurity Verification Plans/Procedures (SVPP)User ManualsWhite PapersAssist PM/PE in creating and maintaining programmatic documentation (e.g., schedules, work packages, status reports) to ensure efficient planning and executionSupport PE with overall technical direction, guidance and development on projectsSupport proposal development for follow on work and/or new programsCollaborate with Business Development to develop, communicate and manage strategic plans for business growth based on short-term and long-term goalsManage deadlines and priorities as well as provide problem-solving skillsRequired Qualifications:Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required)Bachelor of Science (or greater) Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university7+ years experience in related field with proven track record of success working in multi-disciplined teamDemonstrated success in full lifecycle product development in both waterfall and agile methodologies and configuration management of produced artifactsUnderstanding of the DoD Acquisition Process for Engineering & Manufacturing DevelopmentProficiency with all Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Power Point, VisioDemonstrated experience with Enterprise Requirements Management Tools (e.g., DOORS, Visure)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong writing and document development skillsAbility to interact with customers and contract representativesPositive attitude, strong work ethic and ability to lead complex tasksPreferred / Differentiating Experience:10+ years of embedded development experience or related field with proven track record of success working in multi-disciplined teamTop Secret ClearanceModel Based Digital Engineering Experience (e.g., SysML)Experience in Cryptographic Product DevelopmentBackground in DoD Communications Security and/or use in the field:Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) knowledgeElectronic Key Management System (EKMS) knowledgeKnowledgeable on EKMS Tier 2 ApplicationsKnowledgeable on Tier 3 Electronic Key Fill DevicesCOMSEC Trained/BriefedNSA High Assurance Certification ExperienceFIPS 140-3 ExperienceWhy Ultra ProLogic:Work on fielded, certified cryptographic systems and research & development projectsDirect exposure to and participation in NSA High Assurance certificationOpportunity to influence system architecture, not just implementationHands-on role in modernizing high-assurance systems with RustLong-term programs, stable funding, and deep technical challengesBacked by Ultra Intelligence & Communications, with the agility of a focused encryption businessBuild embedded systems that must be right—because national security depends on them.NoticeDue to the nature of the programs we deliver for our customers, candidates may need to obtain the relevant security clearance or handle export-controlled material as defined by the role's requirements.Our BenefitsEvery employee is critical to our success, and as such, we offer a range of flexible employee benefits, including:Annual Bonus -
