We maintain professionalism, integrity, and commitment as we solve problems and make lives easier.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Timely and accurately assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to patientsContact practitioner to obtain ordersAdminister prescribed medication, treatments and other tasks as ordered by the practitionerProvide emergency first aid care, when appropriateCheck and record vital signs, peak flows, blood glucose checks, weight, and other diagnostic tests on-site, when appropriateTriage officer intake screenings for necessity and priority at sick callCollect and record data for statistical reporting on the CQIRecord information in chronic clinic and outcome study documents as indicatedReport reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in the patients’ emotional or physical conditionProvide patient education on topics such as correctional facility’s policies and discharge planningRecord care information concisely, accurately, and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate formsCollaborate and coordinate multiple medical services for diagnosis and treatment, as directed by the practitionerMaintain aseptic techniques and infection control precautions as requiredMaintain and demonstrate working knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reaction/overdoseMaintain and demonstrate working knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutritionMaintain and demonstrate working knowledge of social and behavioral sciences, particularly as applied to the correctional institutional settingRecommend improved procedures, equipment, and supplies to your supervisorNotify supervisor of medical or security incidentsPresent/participate in in-service education sessionsPerform duties within the scope of practice mandated by state and local standardsMaintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA practices as required by government agenciesOversee and delegate duties as expected and allowed under the RN scope of practiceMay be directed to cover shifts at multiple correctional facilitiesMay be asked to act as a back-up to the H.S.A/Site ManagerMay be asked to train new hires and coworkersAny and all other duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Active nursing license in the state in which services are to be provided, in good standingBasic Life Support (BLS) certification; hands-on trainingExcellent documentation skillsKnowledge of the RN scope of practiceBenefits (Benefits eligibility is determined by employment status):Referral program401(k) w/employer matchHealth insuranceVision insuranceDental insuranceProfessional DevelopmentPaid Time OffDisability Insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr Advanced Correctional Healthcare
