Clinical Coordinator II-MA

Position Title: Surgical Oncology Office Assistant (CC207659) Position Responsibilities Coordinates patient flow in the office. Works directly with physician during office hours. Ensures continuity of clinical support for all services related to patient care through coordination with physician office staff. Triages patient calls. Works with physician to ensure proper handling of all calls. Supervises and coordinates staff assignments on a daily basis to ensure patient flow in the office. Participates in the interview, hiring, and dismissal process. Prepares room and assists doctor in office procedures. Prepares all surgical packets for patient. Gives instructions and preparation directions as needed. Handles after‑hours calls and contacts physician for proper handling of all calls. Regularly monitors office for JCAHO compliance, including reviews of sample drug logs, sharps, and completeness of patient records including Ambulatory Summary Records. Ensures that all post‑operative patients are seen in a timely manner. Resolves problems and concerns of all clients with confidence and control in a timely manner. Maintains par levels of office and medical supplies. Completes and submits pharmacy check list to Pharmacy Administration on a monthly basis. Completes and submits Audit Tracer to Physician Administration on a monthly basis. Assists with developing processes to improve the quality of patient care provided by the facility. Participates with office coordinator/office manager in clinical staff evaluations. Performs other departmental specific job responsibilities as needed. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Medical Assistant Certification / LPN from an accredited institution/agency required. Phlebotomy Certification preferred. CPR Certification required. Education Technical or Associate Degree preferred. Experience 5+ years experience in a physician practice setting / healthcare industry experience.
