JobDescription

JBSmithConstructionisseekinganexperienced ConcreteForeman toleadconcreteoperationsoncommercialandpublicconstructionprojectsintheWashington,DCarea.

Wearelookingfora hands-onworkingforeman whocantakeownershipoftheconcretescopefromlayoutthroughcompletion.Therightcandidatemustbeabletoreadstructuraldrawings,planupcomingwork,managefieldcrews,coordinateinspectionsandconcreteplacements,andmaintainbothproductionandqualitywithoutrequiringconstantdirection.

Thisisafieldleadershippositionforsomeonewhoknowsconcreteconstructionandiswillingtoworkalongsidethecrewwhennecessary.

EnglishandSpanishbilingualcommunicationskillsarestronglypreferred.

Responsibilities

Leadandsuperviseconcretecarpenters,finishers,andlaborers
Plandailyandupcomingmanpower,materials,equipment,andworkactivities
Readandinterpretstructuraldrawings,details,andspecifications
Performandverifylayout,elevations,dimensions,andbenchmarks
Coordinateformwork,reinforcingsteel,embeds,sleeves,blockouts,anchorbolts,andconcreteplacements
Directconstructionoffootings,foundations,walls,slabs,equipmentpads,curbs,andotherstructuralandsiteconcrete
Coordinateconcreteorders,pumptrucks,inspections,testing,andplacements
Performpre-pourchecksofformwork,reinforcing,dimensions,elevations,embeds,andpenetrations
Maintaincrewproductivitywhileensuringworkmeetsprojectdrawings,specifications,andqualityrequirements
Planseveraldaysaheadtoensurelabor,materials,equipment,andinformationareavailablewhenneeded
CoordinatedailywiththeSuperintendentandProjectManager
Identifydrawingconflicts,fieldconditions,andpotentialchange-orderworkbeforeproceeding
Trackmanpower,quantitiesinstalled,deliveries,anddailyproduction
Maintainaccuratedailydocumentationandprogressphotos
Enforcecompanysafetyrequirementsandmaintainaclean,organizedworkarea
Leadfromthefrontandassistthecrewwithhands-onworkwhenneeded

Qualifications

Minimum 5yearsofcommercialconcreteconstructionexperience
Minimum 2yearsofexperienceasaConcreteForeman,AssistantForeman,orLeadCarpenter
Strongknowledgeofcommercialandstructuralconcreteconstruction
Strongknowledgeofconcreteformworkandformingsystems
Abilitytoreadstructuraldrawingsandconcretedetailsindependently
Experiencewithreinforcingsteel,embeds,anchorbolts,sleeves,andblockouts
Abilitytoperformlayoutandworkfromestablishedbenchmarksandelevations
Experiencecoordinatingconcretepours,inspections,testing,anddeliveries
Abilitytoeffectivelyleadcrewsandmaintainproduction
Strongunderstandingofconstructionsequencingandplanning
Dependable,organized,andabletocommunicateeffectivelywithfieldandofficemanagement
OSHA30preferred
Validdriver'slicensepreferred

We'relookingforsomeonewhotakesprideinqualityworkmanship,keepsthecrewproductive,maintainsasafeandorganizedjobsite,andunderstandsthatgoodplanningisjustasimportantasworkinghard.

Compensation

$45.00–$55.00perhour ,basedonexperienceanddemonstratedability.

Compensationwillmeetorexceedallapplicableprevailing-wageandfringe-benefitrequirementsoncoveredprojects.

Full-timeemploymentwithopportunitiesforadvancementasJBSmithConstructioncontinuestogrow.
