Pediatric Endocrinology Opportunity

Ascension Illinois is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist for our Pediatric Endocrinology Department. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Illinois to provide medical services to patients.

Position highlights:

• Part-time
• Full-service outpatient Pediatric Endocrinology Practice
• Inpatient rounds, potentially when on call
• 2-3 days per week in clinic setting
• MA support for Endocrinology

• Level III NICU and PICU
• 24/7 Neonatology service
• 24/7 Pediatric Hospitalist service
• Pediatric ER
• Great access to all Pediatric Sub-specialists on campus
• Beautiful Northwest Suburban location

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
• Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
• Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accept patient referrals from other physicians. Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
• Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What minimum requirements you'll need

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Education:
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
