Anesthesia Technician

Entity: Owensboro Health Regional Hospital | Department: Anesthesiology | Work Hours: 230p-1100p M-F | Weekend Requirements: As Needed | 1.0 FTE

Job Summary:

Assists licensed anesthesia provider(s) with duties related to the care and monitoring of patients and equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Cleans, sterilizes, and sets up all types of anesthesia equipment.
• Assists anesthesia provider with monitoring, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management.
• Provides daily maintenance of all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Maintains a sufficient inventory of all equipment and supplies.
• Assists all team members in room turnover and set up.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position
